Based on the theme of 'Looking In, Looking Out: Balancing Global and Local Priorities’, the Los Angeles Global Health Conference partnered with the Centro Educativo San José in Montecristi, Dominican Republic to begin a dialogue across local perspectives regarding priorities for healthy living. Over 170 children and youth (ages 5 to 14) were invited and chose to participate, by being prompted with the question “What is the most important thing you would teach others about how to live a healthy life?”, to which they responded through artwork. Their responses will be presented during the 2018 Los Angeles Global Health Conference alongside perspectives from other invited speakers and researchers. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a curated set of selected artwork and aggregate qualitative analysis of the priorities described across all submissions. These will serve as a prompt for Attendees to themselves respond via written comments that will be delivered to participants in the community after the conference, to extend a dialogue that follows the mission of the Los Angeles Global Health Conference.
